Vision 2022:
Policy:
Background The 2020-2021 school year resumed on September 1st, consistent with adjustments that were made to the District 200 Reopening Plan on August 14th. Elementary students began the school year with the option of in-person instruction on a modified day or the Virtual Academy. Middle and High School students started the year remotely. Beginning October 13th, middle and high school students began the transition back to the hybrid model. The hybrid model continued until an adaptive pause was taken at our middle and high schools on November 16th. Elementary students have continued the in-person plan. While the Adaptive Pause has been in place for our middle and high schools, the District has continued to plan for the return of our students to our hybrid plans. On January 11th, students resume the hybrid plan at the middle and high schools. Protecting the health and safety of our students, staff, and community remains a priority in all planning efforts, along with planning for the educational and social-emotional needs of our students. The District has continued to evaluate hybrid learning plans and evaluate adjustments that should be made. An additional mitigation strategy was added with surveillance testing to support the transition back to hybrid learning. District teams are cognizant of the impact of the pandemic on learning progressions for our students and continue to plan for mitigation efforts to address learning loss. District leaders will provide an update to learning plans, including both in-person and virtual academy plans at the meeting Wednesday evening.
