Subject: Acceptance of Gifts from Sandburg Elementary School PTA

Background: According to Board Policy 8.80, the Board, on the recommendation of the Superintendent, must accept all gifts individuals or organizations contribute to the District.

Summary: Sandburg PTA has purchased four outdoor picnic tables and donated them for the benefit of the students and staff of the school. These tables, as well as a sign, were purchased to celebrate the retirement of former Principal Aaron Bacon. The total cost of the gifted items is $4,894.00. By donating these items, Sandburg PTA transfers ownership of the items and relinquishes to District 200 the responsibility for maintenance, repair, insurance and any liability incurred in the use of the items donated.
