Subject: Approval of SIP Phone Agreement with Call One
Vision 2022:
Financial & Facilities Management
Monitor and update the annual Master Technology Plan.
Policy:
Background: Call One has been our local and long distance provider for phones for the past five years. Currently we access phone lines through PRIs, which are an older analog technology. SIP technology utilizes internet transport to carry calls.
File Attachment:
Summary: The district would like to take advantage of switching phone transport from older PRI technology to newer SIP technology. This conversion will save around $750.00 dollars in monthly service, as well as, additional savings for utilizing Call One routers in the new plan.

The services will be the identical to the current plan. The only difference is how the service is brought into the district. This new solution will add the benefit of a failover to 4G calling in case of line outages. Moving to SIP will allow for all phone equipment to be under generator back up. The current PRI lines run through the high schools. Moving to SIP will bring the lines to the SSC and Hubble, which should eliminate the few down times experienced when power is lost at either WNHS or WWSHS.
Funding: The $6100.00 monthly cost will be allocated in the phone/internet/connectivity budget.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the Call One SIP Phone agreement as presented.
