Subject: Approval of Change Orders for 2019 Summer Construction Projects for Roofing

Continue to work to address projects identified in the Facilities Master Plan, through the dedicated budget allocation for capital facility projects per Board policies.
Policy:
Background: During the summer of 2019, Olsson Roofing was contracted for roof work at five (5) schools in the amount of $3,510,275.00, which included $150,000 in allowance. These schools include Bower, Lincoln and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools, and Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South High Schools. During the 2019 Summer Construction Projects, several modifications were made to the contract resulting in change orders and credits to the contract.

Summary: The change orders have been reviewed by Legat Architects and District Administration. A cover letter from Legat Architects and a change order summary are attached to this report. These changes were due to field conditions, added or reduced scope, and resulted in a credit change order of ($118,413.00), for a final contract amount of $3,391,862.
Funding: 2019-2020 Budget - Fund 26, O & M Capital Renewal
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the change orders as presented and indicated in the change order forms.
