6.210 - Instructional Material
A pilot committee comprising of twenty-one teachers from every grade level and each elementary school in the district reviewed the Illinois Social Science Standards. The Illinois Learning Standards (ILS) define what all students in all Illinois public schools should know and be able to do in the six core areas as a result of their elementary and secondary schooling. The Illinois Social Science Standards are designed to ensure that students across Illinois focus on a common set of standards that promote the development of the knowledge and skills necessary for success in college, career, and civic life in the 21st century. Two material resources were piloted at every elementary grade in D200 classrooms. The materials that the committee believes will best help students and teachers master the Illinois Social Science Standards is myWorld Interactive from Pearson Education, Inc. (2019). This K-5 tool provides print materials and online resources.
