Subject: Approval of Printshop Paper Bid

Background: The district print shop is responsible for determining the quantity of paper and the various types of paper that is needed to keep up with the demand for district-wide printing services. Orders for paper are placed as needed. In July 2016, the Board approved bids from three (3) vendors for these similar types of paper at an estimated total cost of $76,440.75, and these contracts expire on June 30, 2017.

Summary: A bid package was prepared. In the bid document, we specified various brands for multiple types of paper. We also sought bids on various sizes and types of envelopes and labels.

Legal notice was published and bid packages were sent to potential vendors. Two (2) vendors responded to the bid.

Attached are the bid results. The lowest bid prices for various items are recommended by the yellow highlighted cells. The prices will be effective through June 30, 2018.
Funding: Estimated Cost: $75,883.25

Funding Source: 2017-2018 Education Fund – Supply Budget
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Education award various paper, envelopes and labels to vendors (as highlighted on the attached bid results) as follows: Murnane Paper Company in the estimated amount of $1,797.00; and Veritiv Operating Company in the estimated amount of $74,086.25, for a total estimated amount of $75,883.25.
